Eat Ozzo Marrickville: inner-west wood-fired sandwiches & coffee

Inner-west sandwich shop with a bigger oven and a louder kitchen.

The inner-west sandwich shop locals quietly hoard

A bigger oven, a louder room, and the full inner-west spread. The Marrickville crew gets Ozzos, pizzini and bowls, seven days a week.

We're on Chapel Street, a short walk from Sydenham station. Side streets park easy. Weekends we're on until 4, so there's no rush.

What makes us a standout Marrickville café

Same stubborn opinion as the harbour shop: bread should taste like bread. Our Ozzo dough is fermented for 72 hours, then baked fresh to order in a bigger oven that lets us run a deeper menu. The fillings come second. Pepe Saya butter. Iggy's flour. Vanella's ricotta. Sydney produce from people we actually know.

Italian sandwiches, specialty coffee, seven days a week

The menu sits on three legs: Ozzos (our 72-hour fermented sandwich), pizzini (folded Italian street-style pizzas) and bowls. Five Senses single-origins on the espresso machine, and a matcha bar the inner-west crowd takes seriously. See the whole menu →

From the coffee bar

Five Senses single-origin latte with a seahorse poured, on a green ceramic saucer
Mocha with cocoa-dusted fern latte art in a glass mug, sunlit on a weathered timber bench
Iced mocha topped with cocoa powder, on a polished concrete bench
A single-origin espresso shot with a tiny smiley-face latte art rosetta, on a green saucer over terrazzo
A Negroni with a dried orange wheel on a wooden serving board, water carafe beside it
A Negroni in a cut-glass rocks tumbler with a dried orange slice, late-afternoon shadow on concrete

What locals say

Absolutely amazing food and drinks! The beef ozzo sandwich and iced London fog matcha were incredible. Everything tasted super fresh, and the bread was perfectly soft and fresh. Deffo coming back again!

What a phenomenal little cafe this is. The pockets are just so nice and well done. The flavours go really well together and the service was really nice. I will definitely be coming back!
★★★★★ Lain Gonzalez
This is our second time coming here, the dough is great, soft and light and so tasty. The choices are great too, something different from your regular pizza places. It's always a very relaxed and chilled out vibe.
